AD MARTIN RENNER
This three-part feature examines the stories women live inside - some imposed on them, some chosen, some quietly absorbed.
The first follows a survivor of attempted femicide.
The second turns to a widening divide among heterosexual women, some deliberately opting out of relationships with men altogether, others embracing traditional roles by choice.
The third closes the feature with an essay asking what narratives are told about women and how they shape who we become, told in a lighter visual register after the weight of the first two. Together, the three illustrations trace a single arc - from danger, to choice, to the stories underneath it all.
