Epidermolysis Bullosa is a severe illness. Patients’ skin is extremely fragile and gets damaged by everything around them. You may have heard it called “Butterfly Children,” but there’s nothing romantic about it. That’s why I ignore this comparison, thanks to my art director who supports this.
The disease causes suffering not only for the child but for all family members because the care is very difficult. Also, the lifespan of patients can be around 30 years, which is why there are adults who have EB.
